Meet Our Pastor

Dr. Kevin Hobi and Family

Pastor Kevin Hobi first understood the importance of the gospel ministry when as a boy growing up in Mentor, OH he came to understand the burden of his sin and the provision of Christ's death on the cross to save him from his sin. He personally trusted Christ as his Savior and felt a call to Christian ministry while still in high school.

Kevin attended Bob Jones University where he met his wife of 19 years, Maureen. He graduated with a BA in History and an MA in Theology. After graduation, Kevin and Maureen moved to Danbury, CT, where Kevin served as the assistant pastor of The Baptist Church of Danbury for 10 years. He was ordained by the church in 1992. Kevin and Maureen have been blessed with three children: Brandon (16), Kara (14), and Kent (12).

During his time in Danbury, Kevin also earned a MBA at Western Connecticut State University. In addition to his service as a lay assistant pastor, Kevin has worked for Consolidated Container Company as a pricing manager and consultant since 1995. Three years after following a job transfer to Arlington, TX, Kevin returned to BJU for further ministry training. In May of this year, he graduated with a PhD in Theology.

Kevin's burden for the town of New Boston is that the people here might have a place where they can hear the gospel faithfully preached and the Bible plainly taught. His ministry goals are summarized well by the challenge of the apostle Peter in 1 Peter 5:2-3, "Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock.
